“Flowers of Friendship”

A City of Whitehorse Artist in Schools Grant

This mosaic mural has a multicultural theme, “Flowers of Friendship”. Rangeview has a sister school relationship with Yokasuka Elementary School in Japan. Students’ drawings were used to create a Japanese/ Australian theme of friendship. Images such as Japanese Cranes, Cherry Blossoms, Koi, Dragonfly’s and people in traditional clothing contrast with Australian, Wattle, Magpies, a Koala and a Kangaroo. At the end of this project Rangeview P.S students sent a selection of hand made ceramic pieces to their sister school so that they could construct a complementary mural for their own school.
