“The Willow Design”

This project celebrated the Willow Plate story. The imagery was changed from blue to colour. Junior school children from years 2, 5 and 6 worked on the plate and the two characters of the love story , Knoon-shee, a lovely Chinese maiden, and Chang her father’s secretary.
Handmade ceramic pieces were complimented by commercial tiles. The out side border was made from handmade embossed earthenware tiles.
